Complexity Management & Modular Methods are key challenges for the development of scaling products for the automotive industry. In order to get a product into series production with clearly defined properties and capabilities, not only the complexity in connected product features but also the variance resulting from constraints and dependencies of a development project with a high degree of innovation must be handled. Therefore, complexity management drivers and modular methods have been defined allowing to have tailored solutions not only for the complexity in modularization coming up during the development but also to consider the overall transformation from physical product architectures to connected ones.
