Software development complexity has been increasing in the automotive industry with the penetration of artificial intelligence, autonomous drive, functional safety and cybersecurity so as the development practices and methods; and this complexity is also intensified with the ASPICE demand from the OEMs. This scenario challenges the development practices and methods in a various significant ways. One of the ASPICE challenges is to “Establish bidirectional traceability and Ensure consistency” which is a key requirement at ASPICE level 1. Unless this requirement is met, achieving ASPICE level 1 is nearly impossible. This is the place where the CLM tools help optimizing the development efforts in establishing and maintaining the traceability. In Visteon we use IBM CLM tool suite to manage requirements, design and tests however majority of the our tests are automated using a various test frameworks. Now the challenge is to make these tests available in the CLM suite from independent test frameworks in order to establish and maintain traceability against requirements/design. This session will focus on how Visteon address this challenge by keeping the development practices optimum without increasing the overheads for the engineers but still meeting ASPICE compliance demand.
